When you find something blocking your path in life, and you feel like there's nothing left for you, most people try to find something or someone that they can count on. Most try to find an outlet, or something comforting to make them feel better. When you were a kid, I bet you had a blanket or a stuffed animal that you treated as if it were your best friend. In life, there are always going to be rough times, and we all need to learn how to work through the pain and find some good in our lives. One thing has always been able to make me see things more clearly. I think people often underestimate how large of an impact music has on our lives. One song on the radio could warp you back to a time where you were on top of the world. That one song could make you feel like you're not alone, or like someone understands how you feel. I'm sure that everyone has come across that song that was, perhaps their own personal anthem.
I'm making this new blog because I've come to appreciate music a bit more within the past few days than I think I ever have before. It seems like whenever I am in turmoil, my music is always there to pick me back up. Music can help establish friendships, strengthen relationships... there are some things that can't simply be said, and a song can bring the words you can't come up with, to form something beautiful. Music has always been something that I've known that I can not live without. I bet you can't even imagine a world without music.
I've made this blog simply because I don't think I can ever truly thank enough people for music. I made this blog because I want to share with other people and I want people to try to gain a better appreciation for music. I strongly suggest that people toss ideas at me as they start to see how I plan on formatting this blog. This is merely an introduction, but I hope that this offers something more to everyone. If this all goes to plan, I'll be posting a song daily with a bit of a description of why I chose it, my interpretation of it, and then my favorite lyrics from the song. Thanks for reading :)
I tend to relate music to moods. If I'm pumped and excited I'll blast something full of energy. Same goes for other moods and corresponding kinds of music. Certain songs will also make me think of different people. whether it's due to those people just liking the music, the feel of the song, or it's message. I can't imagine life with out it.
ReplyDeleteI am very passionate about what I listen to, and the thing I love the most about music, is that so many people can have so many different interpretations of it. One song could mean two completely different things to two people or even what it was intended to mean.
